Leica Digilux 2

I bought my Leica Digilux 2 camera new in March 2004. It has been in almost constant use ever since and is now over eight years old. Apart from receiving a replacement sensor, a wide-spread problem resolved by Leica at no cost to owners, my Digilux 2 (D2) has performed faultlessly. Although I use my D2 almost daily, it is fair to say that it is not my mainstream camera for photography destined for publication. It is mainly used for personal and experimental photography.
Despite its relatively old technology and fairly low-resolution 5 mega-pixels sensor, the D2 is winning new converts worldwide. Photographers appreciate its exceptional lens, (28-90mm equivalent f/2 Vario-Summicron), automation and yet wonderful ergonomics for manual operation. For those interested, look at the Leica User Forum>digital Forum and locate the thread entitled: "Do Digilux 2 Photos have a Distinctive Look?". Currently it has had over 300,000 viewers!
The portfolio shows a random selection of some of my 10.000 retained Digilux 2 pictures and variants from my library. Here is a picture of the camera with the optional ELPRO-D macro lens attachment.
